oh--where to put the pedophiles ?
I have been really disturbed by the recent stories about sexually abused children. I know that there has not been an increase in the offense, just seems that there is an increase in the reporting. Every evening there is another story that just hurts my heart.Maybe it is the Biscuit that is causing my peaked awareness. Either way, it has my attention. This topic has always stirred a fire in my gut.Not only as a woman but as a human being ,I find crimes against women vile and evil. That said, you can only assume that I find crimes against children unspeakable. Only a truly black soul could do such things.
The question of what to do with criminals is always up for debate. For many situations I am on the fence. I don't want to spend all my tax dollars on their 3 squares. Make them work for it at least. Death penalty ? Can't say I am against it.When it comes to murderers--I don't believe they should be let out. I understand that people make mistakes, but overall, I stand by my opinion. I will admit there are probably some grey areas--but I am not an advocate for their rights--they hurt people.
When it comes to these despicable creatures-the child molesters, pedophiles, rapists--not only should they never see the light of day, but they should not be allowed to live. It can take all kinds to commit murder. I mean, truly--it may not be as common, but women kill, people of all ages kill. Some premeditated, some crimes of passion, some to avenge--but it spans all ages, genders and ethnicities. However,to torture and dominate another living being, to violate a women or worse an innocent child takes something totally different--something dark. Now, I know that there may be some that are disturbed or at a little upset by my feelings and just as I have a right to my belief, you have a right to your opinion. But--here is my view. These people violated babies........BABIES!!!!!! That is it--enough said--they should be killed so they will never be allowed to hurt anyone again. These poor children will have to live with what happened to them forever and even with the strength of a family and counseling they will be in pain--physically and emotionally. You may believe that God ( or whomever you higher power is) is the only judge or you yourself may believe that people should be forgiven or saved--
I don't.
They can not be rehabilitated, they do not deserve to be forgiven and if God truly is the only judge, then let him deal with them--they do not need to take up space on earth. There is nothing that could be done to them that would equal the pain to that naive, innocent child.
As a new mother and unfortunately a victim, I can tell you that God is the ONLY one who could help the person who would hurt my baby.
I have chosen to try and look at the irony in this world with a sense of humor, but on this subject--we need to finally do the right thing and put the victims ahead of the violators. They stole someone's life, they do not deserve one.

Even in difficult times like these, I still try to stand by the commandment of "thou shall not kill." However, I am not sensitive to the needs of these kinds of people. They don't need TV, internet access, good books or 3 square meals a day... Stick THEM in Guantanamo!
ReplyDeleteAlong the same topic is that many of these people don't even get life in prison... they serve "time" and get out. Even more disturbing are situations like in California where they released (or are releasing) like 40,000 inmates or something ridiculous of their prison population because they cannot afford them. WTH?!?! How do they decide who gets to stay and who gets to go? I would put money on it that child molesters are ranked as a less harmful person than a murder...
Anyway, being a mom this whole topic bothers me way more to my core than it used to. I routinely check the watchdog website to make certain I am aware of anyone who's committed a sex crime in my area. I'm very mindful of my children's caretakers and have already started having discussions with the oldest one... There is only so much you can really do though, or else you'd make yourself sick.
If they did reserve capital punishment for these individuals, I can't say I'd shed a tear though...

ReplyDeleteWell said--don't even get me started about letting them out --I would s let a murderer out before a child molester--although neither should go free.
They should also be forced to work for free to offset all the tax money going to their food and shelter.
It is a horrid topic and one that does not receive enough attention . Many people stand by the commandments and I absolutely respect that choice. The problem for me is I started thinking about how I would explain that to my child.
"well, God was REALLY clear on the killing, but on the"raping of children" he was a little grey." --that doesn't feel right to me.
The thing is I believe in God, but I believe that man interprets the written word to suit their situation ie-the Bible OR the Constitution ( I mean--does anyone think they imagined an AK47 while they wrote " right to bear arms"? ). Probably wasn't thinking about how vile mankind could be when he said "thou shalt not kill". Maybe he meant to add "unless you hurt a child"
Anyway--This parent thing is new to me-- but---up to me??? Pedophiles......gone--maybe the money we save in their care will be more useful elsewhere.
